"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of New Life Christian Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

HOLY BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

TRINITY

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God, and in His personal return in power and glory.

SIN

We believe that sin came into the world through the disobedience of our first parents, Adam and Eve, and death by sin. Therefore, all humanity is in need of salvation due to it's inherent sin nature as well as voluntary transgressions.

SALVATION

We believe because of our total inability to save ourselves, salvation is by God’s grace alone. It is received by faith with repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior.

SANCTIFICATION

We believe that sanctification is that work of the Holy Spirit by which the child of God is separated from sin unto God and is enabled to love God with all their heart and to walk in obedience to God's Word.  Sanctification is both instantaneous and an ongoing process.  It is initiated at the moment of justification and regeneration.  From that moment there is a progressive sanctification as the believer walks with God and daily grows in grace and in a more perfect obedience to God.

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in every believer at the moment of regeneration. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is distinct and subsequent to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit at regeneration, releasing the power of the Holy Spirit through faith. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to endue the believer with power from God, to offer an inspired witness for Christ, to lead the believer in a life of holiness, and to equip for a Spirit-filled life of service.

THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is manifested through a variety of spiritual gifts to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of Biblical parameters.

THE CHURCH

We believe that the Christian Church is the entire body of believers in Jesus Christ. The Church includes both those believers who have gone to be with the Lord and those who remain on the earth. The Church on earth is to preach the pure Word of God, properly administer the sacraments according to Christ’s instructions, and live in obedience to all that Christ commands. A local church is a body of believers formally organized on gospel principles, meeting regularly for the purposes of obeying and fulfilling God's will and mission for the church.

WATER BAPTISM

We believe that water baptism is a sacrament of the church, commanded by our Lord and administered to believers. It is a symbol of the new covenant of grace and signifies acceptance of the benefits of the atonement of Jesus Christ. By means of this sacrament, believers declare their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior.

COMMUNION

We believe the sacrament of the Lord's Supper is a sacred time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross.

GOD'S HEALING AND PROVISION

We believe that God cares and provides for every aspect of one's life. God is the ultimate source for spiritual, mental, financial, and physical provision. We specifically believe that the power of God to heal the sick and afflicted is provided for in Christ’s death on the cross.

SECOND COMING

We believe Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.

RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto eternal separation from God.
